As that famous philosopher Elmer Fudd would say; “There’s something very screwy going on here.”
This guy has zero profile. zero online presence. all accounts he is just a retired guy who liked to gamble.
Being rich with several homes, he likely had surveillance cameras. so would the hotel. this would show if HE actually put the guns and ammo in the room. would also show if SOMEONE else planted explosives and other things in his home. A retired guy like that would have a shop he did his work in, or a favorite home for his hobbies, NOT have stuff in both locations.
At his age/weight, he doesn’t appear physically fit enough to pull off all that he did, you know how heavy that ammo is? all the trips he’d have to take bringing it all in, building his firing platforms, firing like a mad man, but switching weapons because the clearly WILL overheat firing at that rate?
I am waiting to hear if ALL those guns were LEGALLY purchased and in HIS name. I am betting not.
The girlfriend/roommate could have worked to set this up, gotten him that room without him knowing, or the group behind this could have just taken over the room regardless of who is staying there, but honestly, this guy is the PERFECT patsy…

This shooter is a bored and rich 64 year old gambler looking for more thrill. He gets into illegal arms dealing, making straw purchases and selling them. This explains why this “non gun guy” has piles of guns in the room, and also back at his home.
So this guy playing at being an arms dealer sorta meeting and dealing arms and this particular buy is in a nice hotel room? They want 23 certain guns, modified a certain way, and ammo, etc.
He’s told to rent a certain suite of rooms and his buyers would show up and pay huge cash for the weapons and ammo.
Guy likes the thrill of all this. Shows up, rents suite in his girlfriend’s name, takes several days to slowly move the goods into the room. Fails to move all the fertilizer into the room since it’s so big and bulky in bags. His terrorist buyers show up, whack him, and go about their business, and then exit quickly.
OR
It could be a variation on a “real life” playing out of the script of the movie “The Accountant“.
One thing is sure… we will most likely never know the truth, just the media delivered official sanitized version.
